Learn Something New:
Last August I moved into a new apartment and before I officially moved in I decided I'd paint my room. I'll just take you all through the process
Step 1:
Get supplies & friends to help you out
Home Depot is a great place to go.
Step Two: Begin by putting up primer on the walls. But remember....you can mess up so be careful how you put the paint on.
Nice even strokes......
I forget and you have to get naked
It's true, it helps the paint dry or something.
Step Three:
While the primer is drying and you are away have your roomate put only blue items in your room to help inspire the room to change colors.
Hahah, yea I have a great roomate.
Optional Step ThreeA:
Leave a welcome message for your roomate when he gets home.
I'll let you guys figure out what it says on your own =P
Step 4:
Let the paint dry and enjoy your new colorful room.

Hahah I hope this inspires you all to paint your rooms.....for me it's been about 6 months since I first paint my room blue.
What color do you think I should try next?

blue is nice, but i wouldn't paint all my walls the same colour....... one colour is very flat...
wow it's a clean color and it's refreshing to see something other than plain white or beige or whatever. What about shit brown? :pooh:
Cute tutorial! I really like the blue you picked, I think you should keep it for a while =) I've always been telling myself to paint my room a pinkish color (since my bed and furniture is pink
but laziness gets the best of me. I'm also afraid I'll mess up.

orange i tell ya....no actually that can be pretty annoying. orange is good in small amounts not large.
why not get a couple cans of spray paint and practice the graf?

hehe i'd be scared to paint it blue now. before i would've loved to...now i'm often depressed and don't need blue helping that out =X looks like you guys did a good job though!

i love painting walls! sponge painting is fun, or using a rag to make a marble effect looks nice too :thumbsup:

and what's wrong with the painting technique in the 3rd picture? I personally thought your technique was the incorrect one..

as for your next coloring, since you DO have 4 walls (right? @_@ ) you can always try more than one color.. haha

i think red would be really cool...definitely make a statement. but there have been studies suggesting that being in a red room makes ppl angrier or more agitated. u can let me know how that turns out! :hug:

I love that blue. My room is a beige/off white colour. So plain but I get a headache if the colours are too strong. Seeing that you chose that blue colour I think may be a different colour on each wall OR have a feature wall one colour and the other three the same. Dark brown, red and white always works well!

i won't be posting the paper i still haven't yet written for that study abroad program :blink:, only because it's on two novels, bao ninh's the sorrow of war and graham greene's the quiet american, not on the experience. if you'll still want a copy once i've actually written it, i'd be glad to email you one, but i highly doubt you'd want a paper on two novels you most likely haven't read.

you should take a like a light tan or cream color maybe even white and paint your room that. they paint only one wall red. like the wall behind your bed. i think it looks hot when rooms have one red wall. it adds character!
