    Something different...

    Let me start off by saying I just recently started writing in my journal seriously over the past 2 months.  Most of the time I'm just writing to entertain others and make people smile.  From time to time though I've tried to keep to the roots of my original journal and use this journal as an outlet for how I'm feeling at the moment.


    Recently, the feeling that every little mistake is magnified and every problem is a gargantuan task to solve has overwhelmed me.  I'm finding it hard to write or contrive something that will make me smile let alone others.  But like all things it will pass and I'll be back to my "normal" self.

    So don't worry the grand stories & hilarity will be back, but this entry will stay as it is.  Another random thought from a man living from day to day....

    I can't really say I've experienced that feling much, cuz I'd sound like a teenager trying to sound mroe mature then he is, but I do agree with what wuhbam said. Good luck.

It has happened to me, where I want to entertain my readers but I'm just not up for the task. Just say what you need to say. Get your thoughts out. This will just make the next funny post seem all the more funny! Hope you're feelin better soon.

  • you do what you want. no need to please others all the the time...this is your thing, and if ppl dun like it, then...well...(in the words of eddy murphy), they can get the fuck out.  :thumbsup: i too write how i am feeling at the moment...the very raw of my true self at the very moment. but sometimes, i find it hard to do that, knowing that people i know and see on a daily basis will read and misunderstand or misjudge me...hehehe...i dunno...but, you are your own person...so, you do what you do.  :worthy:  :hug:

  • like everybody else has pretty much said, this is your little corner of the web, and you shouldn't feel obligated to write to please others.  Write about whatever you wish to write about, and if they dont like it, it's their problem, not yours.

    but whatever you decide to write about, i reckon most of your regulars will continue to come and comment and be entertained - me included

  • I hate writing for other people.  Fuckin' pressure.  Then again, I'm no eprop whore so I don't really care.  I think it's refreshing for different entry tones anyways.

  • Hey I just read your last entry... my car was sideswiped today and the guy just drove off as fast as he could... I was so shocked I didnt even think to get his license plate I really wish people had more respect.

  • I honestly enjoy and look forward to the more personal entries much more than the others and seriously wished you wrote more often that way, but you're an entertainer at heart and there's nothing wrong with pleasing your fans. Like the first poster said, "It's your weblog and you can do whatever you'd like with it." We'll keep reading.

  • you have a very unique style with your journal but very appealing to the masses. i use my xanga to write whatever is on my mind for the day. i could care less if people comment or not. good writing will speak for itself.

    anyhoo, nyc is a place i think everyone should be when they're young. it's really given me a new attitude towards life and there's not a place like it anywhere else.

    I've felt like that before, and I realized it isn't good for the soul.  It tends to be a habit to hide from others, when you get used to trying too hard to make other people happy.

    Anyway, hmm... You know I used to be such a happy, bright, optimistic, bouncy person who had a lot of energy... But things changed.. I wish I could still be the same as I used to be, but every time I try to reminisce about the past, the light doesn't seem to shine for long... Afterwards I'm in the midst of darkness. Nothing seems everlasting to me anymore.

    But anyway, DUDE, you have cB smilies! AWESOME!

  • Xanga is corrupt in that way; it's used as a source of entertainment as opposed to an actual emotional outlet--what a journal really is. It's important to mix things up and also it proves there really is a more complex and intriguing person behind the humor and higher echelon of the Xanga world.

    Just keep writing for yourself. ♥
