Over the past week I’ve reached some milestones I wanted to share with everyone. I’m probably just gloating but hey, it’s my site.
Background:
I’ve had my xanga for over 3.5 years and to be honest I didn’t really start posting entries until the beginning of this year. Through the inspiration of a friend and the acquisition of Adobe Photoshop I have been able to post almost every day in 2005.
So why do I do it?
1. I’m an attention whore.
2. There is a part of me that enjoys making other people think or just smile.
I know everyone keeps on saying “write for yourself”, but the reason why I post online is for others to read. If it wasn’t for others then I would write on some obscure blog or a journal hiding under my bed.
Proof Positive!
1. February 28th, 2005 – I reach 50,000 Visitors. =)

This is actually the 2nd time I’ve gotten #1 on featured content but this one meant more because my real picture is actually attached to the entry this time.

This is the best Xanga there is. Thanks for the great daily read. I viewed your site traffic by month. Dear God, what did you ask for from Santa? Your site traffic went up exponentially when December came. Very impressive. And obviously, I went to Non Featured Content and voted for you. I think you’re losing to a girl who puts up nude pictures of herself though…that’s some pretty stiff competition.

i highly suggest you try engaging it sooner rather than later. yes, this grand compendium is a literary masterpiece but more so, it is a life-giving book! a sensible place to start is in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). i think your friend AnonEMouse can help you.

ryc: this is my first year teaching too. 1st grade. i teach in the innercity school, i guess you can say. it’s in the projects area, so it’s a bit tough…Nursery to 8th grade, the rejected students from other schools come to my school…my rugrats are a tough bunch…but, i’m weeding out the bad ones (getting services provided for their behavioral and psychological issues). so, we’re getting there. =) i’m sure your friends know, but the first is the hardest…err…not that i’m an expert on this subject, but that’s what i expected and with each week, something gets better, whether it be the commute, the lesson plans, or dealing with kids…it’s funny, cuz i’ve been working with kids for about 11 years now and i’ve seen a lot of different kids…but these kids….woo…they are something else. anyway…sorry to have left a novel for you to read…

yes, it is a stressful job…not enough money nor the respect…kids, parents, and the admin…they can come down on you like ton of bricks. but every once in a while, when you see that lil spark in the kids’ eyes when they get the right answer or that they understand what they are doing…that makes it worthwhile. not necessarily that you did that, but that you are able to experience it and have something to do with that light bulb being turned on. i try to remind myself of this everyday, praying for them too…that i will love them, to give love that they don’t get, and to have compassion for them…so that they may become the future leaders… but, i dunno…hehehehe…maybe my outlook will change as i continue teaching…hopefully for the better. :smile:

i’m jealous. i crave attention as well, but i’ve been watching the number of my subbers slowly decrease. after my run on xanga’s premium spotlight (which has long been nixed), i had approx. 1400. i now have 1016.
