  • Xanga doesn’t always seem to follow step 1.  I’ve seen some featured sites that I don’t understand why were featured. 

    I feel you on step 2.  Too many “random props” without a meaningful comment to back it up.

    you dont really need to have meaningful comments on your site to get onto featured..   though it is quite warm to have everybody that comments actually comment after reading the entry, and not just some random proppage or people that come back to respond to your comment on their site. . @_@

    anyways, sometimes being featured means nothing because their topic is about some mundane thing such as where they bought their cartoon of milk. or a series of provactive pictures.

    i think featured content is primarily self-perpetuating. it’s funny, because i didn’t even know it existed until you (and/or kim) made it. and i was subscribed to both of you anyways…

    i always try to leave a comment, and to leave a mostly relevant one (somehow). i don’t care too much about making exciting posts though. that’s why my site used to have a disclaimer, something like ”don’t read this. it’s crap.”

  • ah ha, very true! i hate when ppl leave a comment and i KNOW they only read the first few lines, the last few lines, some highlighted bold text, or if they’re clever – a few middle lines!!! it’s easy to spot out!!!

  • I do not aspire to be on featured, but it would not hurt my feelings if it happened.  Regarding your Tip #1 – I think I’m most entertaining when I don’t think, when I ramble and make a fool of myself, althought that is never intentional. I did a lot of that today.

  • i used to get featured a lot in my old xanga. i wrote a lot about shit and diarrhea. no joke.

    about ur last post, as i was reading the entry i thought “oh no … poor lan’s head is too big to see the lil people that reads his entries.”  yes i did get offended, almost quit xanga hehe.. and i felt like how could the week get any tougher. (i just knew that post was intended for me)  but then i thought again “lan is too nice … maybe someone jacked his xanga and talked hella shit on it.”  haha yes i am wierd so what?
