Event Recap:
BAM…..all it takes is 10 seconds to change your life.
Last night I went to the Clippers vs Timberwolves game and I was going to write about that today but a funny thing happened on the way to the game….
I was involved in a Hit & Run!
The Drive:
The game is scheduled to start at 7:30pm. I get on the freeway right after work to get to my friends apartment at UCLA to pick him up. The drive starts at 6pm and I battle LA traffic for 2 hours before I get to my friends house at around 8:00pm.
Shit Happens:
The drive from my friends apartment to Staples Center is about 20-30 minutes.
When we are about a mile away from the Staples center my friend looks at me and says, “this part of the 10 freeway sucks because you can see the Arena but it’s bumper to bumper traffic until you get there.”
At this point my car is at a complete stop because of the trafic…..

*BAM*
A car rear ends me from behind and my head (and neck) get flung forward towards the deck of my car. I slam on my brakes barely stopping myself from rear ending the guy in front of me.
After I collect myself, I jump out of the car into oncoming traffic to chew out the driver behind me. I then realize I’m in the middle of the freeway and we both decide to pull over to the side of the road.
I calmly ease my car out of harm’s way and as I go back to talk to the guy he jets off back into traffic and I don’t even see his license plate. I don’t chase him down because I hadn’t even checked to see if my car was safe to go back on the road.
So after he left……I was at first stunned
then shocked
then sad 
then angry
Update:
~My rear car bumper is kinda loose and scratched.
~We ended up going to the game and the Clippers won.
~My neck feels sore and I’ve had a headache all morning.
~I don’t have enough information to file a police report
When problems arise in your life, how you choose to deal with them define what kind of person you are.
So, I’m not going to let this get to me. Life is to short to be concerned with something I couldn’t prevent or fix now. However….karma will take care of the guy that hit me though.

awwww…haha usually when i’m involve in a hit and run…its me who hit and run. eversince i started driving…i’ve been in a total of 6 accidents…including 4 hit and run.

whoa…that sucks. LA drivers man. I’m telling you. In the 6 years I’ve lived in SoCal, I’ve been hit and ran 3 times. All when I was in LA.

man, you drive in la long enough, that’s bound to happen… remember when i used to come down all the time to chill with cecile and ingrid? well, i was on the 405 with cecile and i got rear-ended by someone (crazy black guy that wouldn’t stop cussing) that got rear-ended by someone else (car full of mexicans). ugh. watch the road people. it’s stop and go traffic. sheesh. luckily i was in the far left lane so there was no room for anybody to escape! :devil: and even more luckily, cops came by like 2 minutes later. sorry to hear about your accident… karma will definitely get that bastard.

That sucks. You should see a therapist. And then file a claim against your insurance company to pay the bills. That really sucks.

Sorry to hear man. Reminds me of my hit/run case. Fortunately, I was able to chase down the fckr and confiscate his car as he made off on foot. The bastard is still battling insurance so I yet to see even a single penny. I hope he’ll never get to drive again.

I was in a somewhat similar situation, except I was a new driver and didn’t fully realize what had happened because I was in such shock. This guy, in a huge SUV no less, sideswiped me on the freeway, scratching the side of my white, pristine car and completely bending my side mirror. And then he drove off as quickly as he could, weaving around cars and whatnot.
