Writings on the Wall:
For a span of about 4 months last year I was updating my xanga pretty much everyday. However, from March 15th-March 24th, I took a 9 day hiatus from xanga.
I came to the realization I have written several entries that weren't for the eyes of complete strangers and in some cases even for people I know personally.

About Me:
If you couldn't tell by now I have a really strong mischievous streak in me. One of my greatest loves is playing practical jokes and I love revenge even more.
On December 6th, 2004 Patrick, my roomate, and Kim decided to hijack my computer and post up a dummy entry.
When I found out that day what they did I responded with the following:
"Just to let you all know Patrick & Kim hijacked my computer last night and I will get them back when they least expect it.....and everyone will know about it
"
I've been waiting for months for a good time to get Kim back.....
Today is that Day :
The depth of this revenge is on a level that even surprised me.
8:00am - I go to Kim's site and see a nice entry about us and also a list of my entries that she likes (Awwwwwwwww)
11:05am - I notice that she linked directly to several pictures on my server.
11:06am - Light Bulb goes off in my head
1:00pm - THIS IS THE BEST PART I tell Kim that someone has linked pictures directly from my site and if she can help me get them back by making a nasty picture to replace the linked pictures.

4:00pm - I replace all the pictures on my site with the picture she made.
4:01pm - I go to her site and take screen shots of all the replaced pictures on her site.
4:22pm - Kim gives me a phone call to tell me she found out and if I can please change the pictures back
5:00pm - I take off the pictures......after taking screen shots of her site and writing this entry.
5:01pm - I decide to leave the pictures up
7:05pm - 3 hours is enough time for her to suffer.

I think this bouquet is nicer than the one I got for her birthday.
Payback:
1) I never forget when someone has played a prank on me
2) The best part is she made the picture I used to hack her site.
3) I know she'll get me back some how but I'm going to enjoy this one

Question of the Day:
Should you date your friends?
When anyone has a friend of the opposite sex I think it's a natural tendency to at some point in the friendship to at least entertain the idea of something romantic happening. When these foreign thoughts begin to invade your mind you really only have two choices:
Option 1: Run & Hide
Just keep your feelings bottled up inside. The reasoning behind this method is most people would rather not put the friendship in jeopardy. What if things don't work out the friendship would then be FUBAR.
Option 2: Head first....into a Wall
The people who choose this option are willing to take a huge chance......they can't help how they feel and will one day just say fuck it and tell you.
Either situation is a risky one and I'm sure for most it has come up at least once in your lifetime.....as it has for me...
Background:
I met Kim about 4 years ago through a collegiate community service organization called Circle K.
I have to admit when I first met Kim I thought she was very hyper and weird.
For the 3 years that followed, Kim & I randomly would see each other but were merely acquaintances...
Over the last year, though, I become closer with a great group of guys (Larry, Jon, Eric, & Ferdiand) and I began to see more & more of Kim because she was friends with them.
Around the Halloween-Thanksgiving season last year I began to start seeing Kim in a different light. I started seeing her as more beautiful and attractive the more I really got to know her.
I was surprised at how well we clicked. We had so many common interests. We both liked to go clubbing, strange sense of humor, drink, try new things, read the same books, xanga'd, anime, art, photography, computers, video games, music etc...etc...
So for the past several months we've been "dating". I was never sure where exactly we stood or what label we were to have. But I did know I was enjoying spending my free time with her more than any other person I know.
I guess a part of the reason why I haven't asked her to be my girlfriend yet was a mixture of knowing once we became "official" we could never go back to being friends and also the fact that I wasn't sure if I wanted to give up the single life (like most guys my age).
The Answer?:
Honestly, there is no universal answer to the question above or a correct why to handle the situation if it arises. But for Kim & I the answer is a mighty yes and it's an answer I'll never regret.

Xangan Spotlight:
On May 23rd, 2003 marks the first day I visited my friend Kim's site and was introduced to the psychotic world of shi.
I was surprised to find that all her entries were in short story form at first. The idea of transcribing complex thoughts and events into installations was very unique so I decided to subscribe.
For over a full year after that day shi did not update and I forgot all about her.
In November shi decided to "revive her writing spirit" and started to begin to write again. Her entries in the final months of 2004 were what I like to call the "cocoon stage"
With the first day of 2005 madpimp.com and shi are reborn; with a new layout and a louder voice shi comes back in full force.
Shi takes you on a journey in every entry. Sometimes taking you to the depths of her soul through her writing or making you laugh so hard you really will "Laugh Out Loud".
I can't emphasize enough how amazing her blog is and how much it has influenced the way I blog today. So, I figured the best way to introduce you to shi is to just pick out several of my favorite entries. I hope you enjoy her site as much as I do.

Thanksgiving Day: Dinner in The Park

Why?
Last year my parents moved to Phoenix, Arizona and I decided to stay in Southern California to continue working and get an apartment. The independence has been very enjoyable but one big downside was that last year was the first year EVER I wouldn't be spending the day with my family.
Rather than just stay home by myself I decided to head up to Pasadena to a service project Larry told me about serving food to the needy. Needless to say I jumped at the opportunity.
Down Time:
Before we actually got to volunteering we had a little time to play around. So we decided to play duck, duck, goose. It's been so long since I played this game and the excitement of the game helped us prep for the long day ahead.
Ferdinand lost this battle to Larry.
New Zoom Lens:
I've been debating about getting a new fancy smancy Digital SLR camera but I figured out a better way to get a zoom lens on my camera.
Larry, was a good man.....
Set Up:
When you are set to serve thousands people forget that someone has to set up the tables for everyone to eat at. That's where we came in.
So me and my friends were assigned to unload chairs and set up tables. I jumped onto the back of the truck to unload the chairs to hand to my friends. It was hard work but very rewarding.
Water, Water Everywhere:
My friend Larry has been to this project several times and so he volunteered to go man the water booth rather than serve the homeless (which is the most popular job)
We all thought he was such a nice guy so we went over to get some water and say thanks.
But wait, don't we look unusually happy? Well the picture below explains why. I swear to god she was the most beautiful water girl I've ever seen. I was just waiting for her to just start throwing a cup of water over herself.
We do it for free:
This was the actual highlight of the day. It's amazing the amount of volunteers that showed up the event (literally hundreds) but even more amazing the amount of needy families that showed up for the free thanksgiving dinner.
In The News:
Some time during the day a reporter for a Chinese newspaper found our little happy group and decided to interview us for an article. It was a very cool coincidence and we actually ended up in the Chinese Daily News the next day.
Reflection:
Not being able to spend Thanksgiving with my family was a huge bummer but getting to be around good friends and feel like I made a difference more than made up for it....

People are always talking about how they wish they were back in highschool or they miss the simpler times of elementary school with jungle gyms, nap time, & milk cartons. But honestly, I love where I am in my life right now.
All the extra responbilities that have been piled on to me all the broken hearts, accidents, & bull shit I've been through have only made me stronger.People who tell me they remember the good old days piss me off because they should be striving to make every year of their life better.
Either way, I'm happy to be the age I am and I don't consider myself to old or to young. I'm just me. If I want to be that professional mature socialite I can and when I get home, if I decide to go crazy and maybe fart on someone's face I can do that also.

The major question on everyone's mind after yesterday's entry was:
How old are you Lan?
Why my age isn't on xanga:
People judge other people everyday merely by how old they are.
My entries switch from mature to immature in a heart beat and to let each reader get the full effect of my entries I decided to keep my age ambiguous on xanga.
However, after reading the response on my last entry, I've come to the realizaiton that my real age can only add to the content of my entries not take away from them.

Dear friend,
Do you know what "kissing" is? I think you probably do because you are older than me. But just in case, I will tell you. Kissing is when you touch your lips against another girl's lips. Wow!
I thought that in those movies and television shows when they talk about having a cigarette break that they should have a kissing break. But then again, I think this would decrease productivity.
I'm only being cute here. I don't really mean it. I just wanted to make you smile. I meant the "wow" though.
Earlier this week my friend Karla asked me to go with her to Universal Studios. I had such a good time! My favorite ride was Back to the Future. Feeling the heat on my face was such a great feeling. All the other rides were OK but I think I like Magic Mountain more.
Well after we left we decided to go watch a movie. We both sat down in the movie theater and then Karla leans over and looks at me.
"So do you want me to kiss you now or kiss you later?"
I was so shocked. I couldn't tell if she was joking or actually meant it.
"Surprise me," I said.
"OK"
"I'm sorry I need to go to the bathroom."
I wasn't sure what to do I never kissed a girl before. I always had this image of me kissing a girl on her front porch after our third date. Me slowly going in and kissing her on the lips while holding her neck. But here I was at the movies with a girl on our first date and SHE asked me for a kiss. What a dilemma. Well I mustered up the courage to head back to the movie and sat down.
Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye I see her head coming at me. Ahhhhh!!!! I brace myself for the worst and she goes in for the kill. I remember thinking to myself Oh my god she's kissing me.......wait this feels good.....wait this feels wet.....wait that's her tongue.
I don't remember much of the movie but this has to be one of the best times I've ever had at a theater.
Afterwards, on the way back to her house we talked about the kisses and I let her know that it was my first time. She was surprised at first and told me she thought I was good. That made me happy.
During the ride home I called all my friends to tell them what happened and how come they didn't tell me kissing was so cool. One friend even brought a bigger smile to my face. "Lan, if you like kissing this much, imagine what sex is like."
